Do Not Be Anxious

Cancun 2015 (141)

Philippians 4:6 Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God,which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

How often do we just sit with our feet up, waiting for God? I think I can guess…not very often. We worry, we try to do everything, we rush ahead with out guidance or true direction. Then, we end up frustrated, or worse, having to start over.

Do not be anxious…

  • afraid or nervous especially about what may happen : feeling anxiety…

  • “For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord.”

  • : causing or showing fear or nervousness…

  •  “So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God.
I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”

  • : wanting or eager to do or have something very much especially because of fear or nervousness…

  • “I can do all things through him who strengthens me.”

In this world we will be bombarded with anxiety. All we have to do is look around, listen to the news, or look at our computers. Our world is failing. In Christ there is no room for anxious thoughts, or feelings.

God has given us His word, the bible, where we can find comfort, direction, and guidance. When we are in His word the anxiety of the world will fall away. Our focus will be upward rather than outward. His words will fill our hearts so there is no room to be anxious.

Do not be anxious…a deep breath, eyes upward, heart open, there you will find peace, thru the power and presence of Christ.

In His Name, Amen
