To walk a mile in someones shoes…
We can never know the truth of another until we take the time to know them, really know them. To sit with them, to stand next to them, and to walk with them. It is to be near and listen that reveals the truth.

Looking at a simple picture conjures so very much in my mind. I remember the day I took this photo. It is part of the senior shoot I did with my daughter Abbey. I asked her to stop, to just stand still. I put my camera low and shot. The colors, the leaves, the fact she was done with this photo shoot, all came into focus for this shot. I have her feet.
These two feet fit in in one hand eighteen years ago. Today, as I gaze at the image, I realize those feet will be adventuring off soon. Not so easily held in one hand today.
A verse comes to mind as I think of the feet of my children, or mine for that matter.
Micah 6:8
8 He has told you, O mortal, what is good; and what does the Lord require of you but to do justice, and to love kindness, and to walk humbly with your God? (NRSV)
God guides and directs our steps. He is with us in all things, in all places. We will wander, we will get lost, and hurt, and tired, but, we can rest in Him. We never walk alone, He is with us always. It is more apparent when we are in the Word, and prayer. When we are sitting next to Him, Standing with Him, Walking near Him. Basking in His light. Selah
