Isaiah 40:10-11 NIV
“See, the Sovereign Lord comes with power, and he rules with a mighty arm. See, his reward is with him, and his recompense accompanies him. He tends his flock like a shepherd: He gathers the lambs in his arms and carries them close to his heart; he gently leads those that have young.”
There are Sunday mornings I would love to stay under the warmth of my woobie and continue to dream. I believe I have a time or two.
There are days I bypass the Bible on my night stand, thinking I’ll get to it later. When later comes I’m too tired, too distracted, too busy or just plain forget.
There are times I’ve been angry with God and want to walk the other way. I trap myself in an imagined mental cinderblock cell, with no way of communicating with God. No signal. The prayers and words seem to bounce off the ceiling and walls bombarding me, intensifying the muck and mire I’m wallowing in.
However…despite my actions. Despite my state of mind, or attitude. I can rest in this…God the Father has me. No matter my resistance, my solitude, or my running, He has me. He wraps His strong arms around me, scoops me up, and, holds me tight. He holds me close. He has never, no ever will let me go.
There are moments I rest in His unwavering strength, and the power of His relentless love for me.
