I was listening to Casting Crowns the other day and the song At Your Feet. This image came to mind, yes it is more than one set of feet but, they are feet, our feet, and we are to lay all we are, have and will be at HIS feet. It is our lives we lay at His feet. The past, present and future. Often we just think in the here and now. It is all we are, all we were, all we will be.

We have sinned, we have failed, we have turned away. But, we have confidence that we can approach and amazing Jesus, who stands firm, always has and always will. At His feet, at His feet we cry. At His feet we let go. At His feet we find strength to let go, to lay it there and feeling the healing gentle hands of a forgiving, gracious and merciful Christ.

Listening to the words I was moved. Moved to fall to my knees at His feet and relinquished that which has held me down. Those things that I hold on to that are not of Him, but of the world. Self importance, past sins and regrets, anger, neglect, the list is long and daily I must take it to Him, to become strong, to know His will and His ways. To sit at His feet for a time and glean from His word, from His life, and love. After a time there, I can rise and walk forward, knowing that my feet, my very feet are grounded in and on Him, my Lord, my Savior, my Rock. May you also lay your “stuff” at His feet and take away a measure of strength and grace from a steadfast and mighty God.
